My extensive work in the Down syndrome community has given me an understanding of the healthcare frustrations felt by patients,  families, and providers. It is my professional and personal experience that a gap exists in the knowledge and awareness of the unique medical and social-emotional needs required for this patient population. Numerous stories, my own included, have inspired me to work at improving the healthcare experiences of people with Down syndrome. Through partnering with professionals, we can achieve this goal.
